The Ascension Day long weekend is one of the few times of the year when everyone has time off at the same time.
Ascension Day 2026 falls on Thursday 15 May, giving you a 4-day long weekend near Paris. Discover Parrot World — zoo lodges, animal feeding experiences, Sunday brunch and more, just 40 minutes from Paris.
The usual go-to? Booking a weekend at Disneyland, heading to Brittany, or getting stuck in Friday night traffic. But there’s a third option, just 45 minutes from Paris: Parrot World, in Crécy-la-Chapelle, Seine-et-Marne.
Just 20 minutes from Disneyland Paris, nestled in the heart of the village of Crécy-la-Chapelle in Seine-et-Marne, Parrot World is the must-see family nature outing during a stay in the region.
Looking for things to do near Disneyland Paris? Look no further! This immersive wildlife park—the only one of its kind in the Île-de-France region—transports you to the heart of South American wildlife, set in a lush, peaceful environment that offers a striking contrast to the hustle and bustle of Disneyland Paris!
Every visit indirectly contributes to the preservation of endangered species, the development of conservation projects, and educational initiatives.
By stepping through the park’s gates, visitors become part of a responsible initiative focused on the future of biodiversity. This involvement adds a meaningful dimension to your family outing near Disney.
A single day in the Amazon is almost never enough. Parrot World offers a truly unique experience: five immersive lodges, perched 3 meters above the ground on stilts, where you can sleep among the animals right in the heart of the park, face-to-face with wildlife!
What’s included in all lodge stays: dinner at Le Panoramic restaurant, breakfast, lodging, two-day park access, and one special activity of your choice within the park.
Large floor-to-ceiling windows offering a panoramic view of the jaguar enclosure. Fall asleep to the sounds of the jungle and wake up facing one of the world’s most majestic big cats, right behind the glass. (Max. 4 people)
Built on stilts above the river near the large aviary. Parrots, herons, and scarlet ibises come to perch on your balcony at dawn. Inspired by traditional Amazonian villages. (Max. 4 guests)
Overlooking a water garden where red ibises, parrots, and night herons find refuge. A nod to the vast wetlands of the Pantanal, between Brazil and Paraguay. Ideal for families. (Max. 6 people)
Welcome to Domaine de Crécy, a cozy and welcoming hotel residence with a restaurant and golf course, located just 200 meters from the park and 20 minutes from Disneyland Paris (77).
An ideal destination for those looking to get away from it all less than an hour from Paris for a short getaway or a weekend in the countryside in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Our 28 comfortable suites, featuring contemporary decor and accommodating up to 6 people, all offer views of the natural surroundings.
Parrot World offers immersive experiences that go far beyond a simple visit. For the Ascension Day long weekend, here are the ones you should book first—they often sell out during long weekends:
Enjoy a special experience in a small group with a caretaker. Go behind the scenes, feed the giant tortoises, and discover their secrets—from longevity to conservation. A peaceful, immersive, and educational experience.
Step into the shoes of a zookeeper and help with daily care tasks: preparing meals, feeding the animals, and maintaining the facilities. A hands-on, enriching behind-the-scenes experience that will change the way you see animals!
Share a unique moment up close with Humboldt penguins. Accompanied by a keeper, help feed them and observe their behavior firsthand. A rare, fun, and enriching behind-the-scenes experience.
While educational farms offer workshops on baking or gardening, Parrot World goes a step further with a unique experience:
Junior Zookeeper, an immersive workshop for children ages 7 to 11 who spend a morning stepping into the shoes of a real animal caretaker.
Accompanied by a professional park caretaker, each child spendstwo hours (from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM) caring for the animals at the Children’s Ranch and the capybaras:
• Preparing the animals’ meals
• Feeding the alpacas, dwarf goats, coatis, parakeets, and capybaras
• Cleaning and maintaining the living areas
• Observing animal behavior and interacting directly with the animals
A visit to Parrot World can be extended with a relaxing Sunday brunch at Le Panoramic Marne-la-Vallée, located just a 3-minute walk from the park. With its view of the golf course, it’s the perfect spot to round off your visit with a gourmet break.
After a morning with the parrots, treat yourself to an unforgettable brunch at Le Panoramic restaurant, which perfectly combines discovery and culinary delight!
For the Ascension Day long weekend, brunch will also be available on Friday, May 15, 2026.
