The Animals of Parrot World

Where do the parrots in the park come from?

No animals are taken from the wild. This is prohibited by the Washington Convention. The park’s parrots come from shelters or wildlife parks. They also come from private individuals who wanted to rehome them and give them a better second chance at life alongside other parrots in a vast living space where they can fly and live as birds.

Where do the other animals in the park come from?

The animals in the park were not taken from their natural habitats. This is prohibited by the Washington Convention. The animals in the park come from exchanges between French or European wildlife parks. Collaboration between wildlife parks is very important: it helps with the breeding of endangered species and prevents inbreeding among individuals of the same species.

Is it okay to feed the animals in the park?

The park’s animals enjoy a varied and balanced diet approved by a veterinarian. For their well-being and out of respect for them, we ask visitors not to feed the animals. Any outside food may be harmful to their health.

You can feed the park’s animals during activities offered by Parrot World: Penguin Feeding, Keeper for a Day, Budding Keeper...

Can we pet the animals?

For your safety, please do not touch the animals in the park, with the exception of those at the children’s ranch. The animals may interpret your actions as an attack and try to defend themselves. Please be sure to review the specific rules posted in the immersive areas.
