Looking for a family outing to a zoo this summer in the Île-de-France region that’s both a change of scenery, accessible, and won’t break the bank? Just 45 minutes east of Paris, Parrot World transports you to the heart of South America right in the heart of Seine-et-Marne.
This immersive wildlife park in Crécy-la-Chapelle is nothing like a traditional zoo: here, over 200 tropical parrots fly freely overhead in a giant one-hectare aviary, black jaguars roam their recreated natural habitat, and capybaras—the undisputed stars of social media—splash around just a few meters from visitors.
With over 600 animals spread across 14 hectares, just 20 minutes from Disneyland Paris, Parrot World is the ideal family outing for the 2026 summer vacation. Affordable prices, educational activities, and lodges where you can sleep surrounded by animals: this guide tells you everything you need to know to plan your visit!
The Île-de-France region is fortunate to be home to several remarkable wildlife parks. Parrot World stands out in this landscape with a unique feature all its own: it is an immersive wildlife park—an approach that fundamentally transforms the visitor experience.
At Parrot World, “immersive” isn’t just a marketing buzzword. The massive 10,000-square-meter Amazonian aviary—one of the largest in Europe—plunges visitors right into the midst of hundreds of free-flying South American birds. Macaws brush past your shoulders. Amazon parrots watch you from their perches. You aren’t just watching the animals—you’re moving among them. It’s a total immersion in South American wildlife, just 45 minutes from the Paris ring road.
And just a few steps from the large aviary, a dedicated immersive aviary houses the African grey parrots taken in by the park: parrots that were captured, abandoned, or in distress, to whom Parrot World offers a peaceful retreat in the company of their own kind. This refuge makes Parrot World one of the largest parrot sanctuaries in Europe.
The park’s main attraction is unique in the Île-de-France region: a 10,000-square-meter open-air immersive aviary where visitors can walk freely among more than 200 free-flying tropical birds from South America.
Blue, red, and green macaws, scarlet macaws, Amazon parrots, conures... The variety of species and the close proximity to the birds create a total sensory experience. The macaws, with a wingspan that can exceed one meter, are particularly spectacular in the summer when they are active under the sun.
Just a few meters away, a dedicated immersive aviary houses African grey parrots that have been rescued or abandoned, making Parrot World one of the largest parrot sanctuaries in Europe.
